The Department of Children and Education in Vimmerby municipality is responsible for all educational activities, from preschool to university, and also oversees Swedish for immigrants (SFI) and community orientation for newcomers. Our common goal is to ensure that the children and youth of Vimmerby municipality have the best conditions to meet the future and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school nurse, you will conduct health conversations, health examinations, vaccinations, and offer open reception with basic healthcare services for students. You will join a well-coordinated team with extensive experience and will be welcomed with an introductory program for new employees. In the role of school nurse, you will also be part of the student health team at the schools. The health-promoting and preventive work is an important part of creating an environment that best promotes students' health and learning. In the position of school nurse, you will work according to applicable laws and governing documents.

Scope: The position initially covers 50% and is placed within our schools.

In connection with a planned retirement within a year, there is an opportunity for the working hours to gradually increase to full-time. This provides you with a secure and well-planned introduction as well as good conditions to gradually take on greater responsibility in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is:

• a licensed nurse with further education as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or has a degree from a school nurse program.
• proficient in computer skills
• has a driver's license and access to a personal vehicle

We consider previous experience in school health care to be an advantage.

As a person, you have a strong commitment and contribute to the continued development of the work. You are flexible, structured, responsible, and self-driven. In the role of school nurse, you will have a lot of contact with students, parents, and colleagues, so it is important that you are service-oriented and can build good relationships. Since you will work closely with colleagues, it is important that you enjoy working in a team and have good collaboration skills. You have good communication skills and express yourself well in both speech and writing.
