As a nurse at the geriatric clinic ward 32, you will work with acute care and nursing for the most vulnerable elderly patients.

We strive to see and develop the healthy aspects of our patients. In the ward, you will be responsible for executing and following up on medical orders as well as leading a workgroup to ensure the care of our patients. We work based on person-centered care, which is an ethical approach that means seeing the individual and adapting care according to the individual's needs, resources, and conditions.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with further education in geriatrics.

You are a secure and stable person with a genuine interest in caring for the most vulnerable elderly. The clinic handles patients with various medical conditions, so it is important that you enjoy variation. As a person, you are structured, communicative, clear, and feel comfortable working independently. A large part of the work is done in teams with different professions, so your ability to collaborate is of great importance. Since we work based on person-centered care, it is essential that you can see the whole picture around each individual patient. You are expected to be humble, calm, and social, and contribute to a good climate for both patients and colleagues.

Currently, there are 14 care places in the ward, but work is underway to expand to 21 care places. The geriatric clinic includes palliative care, geriatrics, and outpatient services. Today, the clinic has about 150 employees, consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, transporters, and medical secretaries. You will also have coordinators and administrators to handle some administrative parts of the work, allowing you to focus on patient-related tasks. We have close collaboration with colleagues outside the hospital, such as in the municipality and primary care, to ensure that patients receive the best possible care from a holistic perspective.

To facilitate work and create even better patient safety, we use Nova boards/tablets, which are digital tools used in patient-related work. In addition, we use the systems Cosmic and LINK.

The County Hospital in Kalmar is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an acute hospital with specialized care, maternity care, and postnatal care. More than 2300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's residents.
