About the role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will be part of our finance team and work closely with our Payroll Specialist. You will support the entire payroll process and play a crucial role in ensuring that our salaries are handled correctly and efficiently every month. You will also be a natural contact for our employees and managers regarding salary, time reporting, and expense claims. Here are some examples of tasks included in the role:

  • Registration of new employees in the payroll system

  • Handling of payroll data, schedules, and terminations

  • Support in payroll preparation and controls before payroll runs

  • Support to managers and employees regarding salary, time, and travel issues

  • Collaboration with HR and finance teams regarding reporting and statistics

  • Contribute to the improvement of routines and processes within the payroll area

The role reports to the finance manager.

About you

You are a person who thrives when things are happening and enjoys keeping order even when the pace is high.

You are structured, meticulous, and have an eye for detail – but also the ability to see the big picture and prioritize correctly when multiple things are happening at once.

New situations do not scare you – on the contrary, you see them as an opportunity to learn more.

We believe you have:

  • Post-secondary education in payroll

  • At least 1–3 years of experience in payroll management

  • Good proficiency in Excel and a genuine interest in numbers and structure

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience with the payroll system Intly

  • Knowledge of different collective agreements

  • Experience in handling foreign receipts and knowledge of various VAT rules for representation and purchases.
