Social Services

The Social Services are responsible for interventions, support, and services to individuals and families in the municipality. Our operations are primarily governed by the Social Services Act, the LSS Act, and the Health and Medical Services Act, and must implement interventions regulated by these laws. All operations are permeated by the individual at the center to meet the individual's needs. The mission involves a strong customer focus and service spirit.

Åkervallen Elderly Home

Åkervallen Elderly Home is located in Marieberg and is a modern facility with two floors and six departments. There are both somatic places and places for individuals with dementia. Each department has shared areas with kitchens and living rooms that create a pleasant and homely environment for the residents.

The facility has a nice and easily accessible outdoor environment close to walking paths and Varamon. In the summer, the outdoor environment is actively used, including through gardening in our planting boxes. Adjacent to the facility, there is a health center and pharmacy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a nursing assistant with us, you will provide our clients with good care and support based on their individual needs and wishes. You will respectfully guide, support, and motivate the resident to manage their daily routines in the best possible way according to their abilities. The tasks may vary from personal hygiene, care, cleaning, laundry, support during meals, assistance in social activities, outdoor activities, and collaboration with relatives.

Your work includes being a contact person, which means planning, implementing, and documenting in the Viva system, as well as following up on care work. You will also perform health and medical care and rehabilitative interventions as prescribed by a nurse and rehabilitation staff. Together, we develop the operations through our various competencies, and we want you to contribute to a good result and the best possible everyday life for our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Competencies:

• You have completed a degree in care and nursing.
• You are accustomed to using a computer as a support in your work as you document daily.
• You have a good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish as the role involves some documentation.
• It is an advantage if you have previous experience in care-related work and previous experience in dementia care, BPSD, or other cognitive impairments.

Personal Competencies:

• You organize and plan your work well, working according to a clear process where you complete what you have started. You set time frames and meet deadlines.
• You are confident in yourself, stand up for your opinions, and have the courage to speak up when necessary. You have the ability to separate the issue from the person and can feel secure even in uncertain situations.
• You take the initiative in social contexts, step forward, and find it easy to create new relationships and maintain relationships.
• You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and strive to deliver solutions.
