System Engineer in Transmission (TRM)

We are looking for System Engineers in Transmission (TRM) for new assignments in critical communication at our operations center in Gothenburg, which includes operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the national radio communication system Rakel.
At LFV, you and your colleagues will ensure reliable and secure communication for essential societal functions in areas such as public order, safety, health, and total defense.
About the position
As a System Engineer, you will be a key person in ensuring that critical communication services function optimally. In this role, you will work as second-line support and handle operation, maintenance, development, and technical support within your area of expertise.
You will also perform configuration changes and actively contribute to creating and improving routines, instructions, and documentation in our knowledge database. Together with colleagues, you will ensure that information and work processes are kept updated and relevant. This role offers a combination of technical problem-solving, management, and developing tasks where you can make a real difference for society's critical communication services.
Your main responsibilities
- Be responsible for planning, implementation, operation, and development of transmission networks
- Participate in projects within the scope of the role
- Conduct HLD and LLD in existing and new networks
- Train operations on established solutions
- Maintain the quality of data entered into databases and support systems

We see that you have:
- A post-secondary education in IT/telecommunications or other experience that we consider equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in the field
- Very good knowledge of SDH and PDH
- Very good knowledge of radio links
- Experience in network design and troubleshooting
- Good knowledge of tele, data, radio, or broadband networks and their structure and relationships
- Good ability to communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Good computer and system skills
Preferred qualifications for this position:
- Knowledge of Ericsson MINI-LINK
- Knowledge of Nokia FlexiPacket and Dynanet
- Knowledge of Connection Master
- Knowledge of RAD TDM equipment
- Knowledge of Element Managers for transmission systems
- Knowledge of synchronization of transmission systems
- Knowledge of IP equivalent to CCNA
- Experience and understanding of ITIL
- Technical understanding of TETRA/4G/5G
- Experience in technical support at a mobile operator
- Experience working with TETRA systems, such as Rakel
Additional information
The positions are permanent employment with a location in Gothenburg. On-call duty may be included in the employment.
Before employment, LFV will conduct a security review, which includes a background check, security interview, and drug test. This position requires Swedish citizenship.
What is NMC?
The Network Management Center (NMC) is our operations center in Gothenburg. At NMC, there is a Network Operation Centre (NOC) that is staffed 24/7 with operations engineers who monitor and perform initial fault analysis and initiate and carry out fault resolution. NMC also has several teams of system engineers specializing in infrastructure, systems, and communication, etc. These groups provide second-line support to the NOC.
