Your responsibilities

As a physical education teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the teaching in the subject of physical education and health according to the applicable curriculum. You create a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop their physical abilities, health awareness, and cooperation skills. You plan and conduct teaching that is varied and adapted to students' different conditions and needs, focusing on joy of movement, health, and sustainable lifestyle choices.

The work also includes continuously following up, assessing, and grading students' knowledge development and progression based on the goals and criteria of the syllabus. You are responsible for safety during physical activities and ensure that teaching is conducted in accordance with current occupational health and safety regulations. The position includes collaboration with colleagues, student health teams, and school management, as well as participation in pedagogical meetings and joint development work. If necessary, you also have contact with guardians to support students' development and well-being.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with the qualification to teach physical education and health. You have good skills in handling computers and similar technical aids in your daily work, as well as good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. If you have experience working as a teacher in physical education and health, it is an advantage for the position, as well as experience working with children and young people and with students in a multicultural school. Experience teaching in primary school or being a leader in the sports community is also meritorious for the position.

To thrive in the role of physical education teacher, you need to be driven and self-sufficient.

You are eager to bring new ideas and suggestions for activities that can be done, and you are good at planning and organizing activities. You should also be able to work systematically and follow up on students' performances. As a person, you are positive and have an easy time connecting with others. You are solution-focused and constantly see new opportunities.

Hällbyskolan is located in Bäckby in western Västerås. The students come from many different cultures, which makes it very exciting, but also challenging to work with us. In Bäckby, there are green areas and proximity to a forest area with exercise trails. The area also has several nice playgrounds, an activity park, outdoor gyms, football fields, etc.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.

This position is a temporary position lasting until 2026-12-22 with a possibility of extension.

During the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a certificate of citizenship along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, the EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
