As a resource educator at Önstaskolan's adapted primary school, you will work supportively and guidingly with our students by adapting the school day based on the students' unique conditions and needs. Together with your team, you will work to provide our students with the best possible school day, focusing on knowledge development as well as well-being and safety.

Your tasks

In the role of resource educator with us, you will be with the students throughout the school day as well as in our after-school club activities. You will collaborate with teachers in the classroom and provide support to students both individually and in groups. You contribute to creating a safe and accessible learning environment in which our students can develop both academically and socially. In addition to the educational and social support, you will also assist students practically with daily tasks based on their needs.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in pedagogy. We want you to have previous experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities, and we expect that you have a genuine interest in this target group. You handle digital tools such as computers, tablets, etc., with ease in your work.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience participating in the implementation and planning of teaching together with teachers and if you have experience and knowledge of various tools and methods for student support that are commonly used in adapted primary schools. This may include visual support, alternative communication methods, various digital aids, and low-arousal approaches.

If you have previous experience supporting children or adolescents with extensive care needs, this is also an advantage.

As a person

you are flexible, meticulous, and committed to creating the best conditions for learning based on the student's conditions and needs. You have a clear student focus, the ability to create good relationships, and collaborate well with students, colleagues, guardians, and school management in a responsive and constructive manner. Being calm, secure, and having a low-arousal approach is, of course, important in this role.
