The Forensic Psychiatry in Värmland offers specialized care for residents of Värmland who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care.

The main part of the operations is conducted in Kristinehamn, where there are three care departments with a total of 32 care places. Additionally, we have a department at the Central Hospital in Karlstad with 10 care places. The operation is also responsible for about 15 patients receiving care in forensic psychiatric outpatient care.

We are a dedicated team of nearly 100 employees. The interdisciplinary team around each patient includes psychologists, nurses, caregivers, social workers, occupational therapists, and doctors.

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with an interest in assessment and treatment work. To thrive in this role, you should be comfortable working long-term and goal-oriented, both in terms of change work in the organization and in working with our patients.

We seek a person who can balance flexibility and responsiveness with integrity and clarity. An important part of the job is to build trusting alliances with patients and to conduct risk assessments according to HCR-20. The role also includes the opportunity to supervise and support colleagues from other professional categories.

Your Skills and Competencies

You are a licensed psychologist with a strong interest in forensic psychiatry. It is advantageous if you have experience working in forensic psychiatry and conducting psychological and cognitive tests as well as risk assessments, for example, according to HCR-20 or similar risk assessment instruments. Relevant education in this area is considered a merit.

We appreciate a good sense of responsibility and the ability to work flexibly and structured. You should be able to work both independently and in a team, and have the ability to provide a professional and respectful response. For us, good collaboration is important, and you contribute to this through your open and solution-focused approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
