Pilskolan

Pilskolan is a resource unit for students in grades 1 to 6. We work on behalf of the student's home school and according to the primary school's curriculum and subject plans. We use sign language as support in communication, visual aids, and various compensatory tools. All staff work in a low-arousal manner and strive to create an accessible learning environment.

Focus on language impairment, autism, and hearing

Pilskolan is a resource unit with a focus on autism, language impairment, and also students with hearing impairment. Students at Pilskolan have a primary placement in their home school and are placed at Pilskolan as part of the special support.

Specialized staff and small groups

We have small student groups composed based on the students' needs and conditions. We have staff with extensive experience and knowledge in hearing impairment, language impairment, and autism. We also have a high staff density, which allows us to support each student based on their needs. We have special educators, speech therapists, and psychologists involved in the daily work with the students. They also guide the staff.

Pilskolan has an after-school program, and you will work on a schedule between 07:00-17:00.

Job Description

As a teaching assistant, you will be involved in planning around the student's school day and help, support, and stimulate students in need of special support for learning, development, and independence. You will support students throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during breaks, in meal and hygiene situations, as well as in other activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teaching assistant education or childcare education. To succeed in the role, you need to have experience working as a teaching assistant and be proficient in sign language. The job requires you to have good oral and written skills in Swedish. Training in low-arousal approaches is considered an asset.

As a person, you are pedagogical and have an understanding of people's different conditions for absorbing knowledge. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Furthermore, you are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. The job suits you if you are calm and composed in various situations and can focus on the right things. Last but not least, you have a good empathetic ability and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation.
