Research Assistant in Women's Health

We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant for a newly established center for women's health (WHOLE).

The Department of Women's and Children's Health (KBH) at the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University is an international and multidisciplinary institution focused on health and welfare. The global health perspective is always present, and we collaborate across professions and clinical areas, both in education and research.

Research within WHOLE aims to improve care and management of women from a life cycle perspective. The research focuses on better diagnostics and treatment of mental health issues and pain in women in relation to the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause, led by Professor Alkistis Skalkidou. Parts of the operation are integrated with departments at the Academic Hospital. The department has teaching assignments in several program courses within the Faculty of Medicine.

Responsibilities

You will continuously collaborate with other researchers to produce results within various projects and have one or more supervisors for support. However, you will also work largely independently, for example, by searching for relevant literature, conducting statistical analyses, and writing articles for journals and other relevant texts.

In addition to your own research, we also welcome your participation in the administrative work at WHOLE. This includes coordinating clinical cohorts, planning and coordinating meetings and ongoing studies, as well as recruiting and screening participants, data registration, and secure database management.

We also hope that some of your time will be dedicated to science communication.

Qualifications

A completed degree at the advanced level in psychology or neuropsychology.

In addition, we require:

• excellent oral and written proficiency in English.
• experience in organizing and conducting experimental sessions with people, e.g., with neurophysiological examinations or psychiatric interviews.
• excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple parallel workflows.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, self-driven, and structured. You have an easy time collaborating both within the team and with external contacts, contributing to a positive work environment. Personal suitability will be given significant weight.

Meritorious

You are encouraged to have international research and educational experience. It is also meritorious if you have proficiency in programming and statistical analysis in R. You should also have a good ability to write academic texts. Experience or interest in science communication is an additional plus.

About the Employment

The position is temporary, lasting 12 months. The extent is 100%. Start date according to agreement. Location: Uppsala.
