The Student Health Service in Lindesberg is now looking for a new employee for a temporary position.

Now you have the opportunity, together with experienced colleagues within the student health service and in the student health teams at the schools, to continue shaping our promotional and preventive work primarily at the group level but also at the individual level.

We are looking for someone who is interested in working with children and young people within our operations in primary school and preschool. You will belong to the central student health service where the mission is to work with children's learning environments from a preventive and health-promoting perspective, with interventions at the individual, group, and organizational levels. A central part of the work as a school counselor is to translate psychosocial knowledge into practical benefits in various contexts. You will work in a student health team, which means close collaboration with other professional groups within the team: principal, special educator, school psychologist, and school nurse.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a school counselor in the student health team, your expertise is the psychosocial perspective. You have good knowledge of risk and protective factors for children's/students' health, social situations, learning, and development. In the student health teams, you see it as a given to contribute your knowledge on how we in preschool/school can best support and meet the children/students who need special support for their mental, social, and emotional development.

You enjoy the variety that the profession offers, working both at the group level and the individual level with staff, management, children/students, and their guardians. At the individual level, you have regular consultations and/or supervision with school staff, individual support conversations with students and guardians. In situations where the student needs more in-depth support, you have a good overview of the community's other support services in the form of external partners, such as child and adolescent psychiatry, youth reception, as well as social services and other authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in social work from a university or college. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is a requirement, and other language skills are an advantage. It is a significant advantage if you have previous experience in social work with children and young people, preventive work, and experience with documentation. We use the documentation tool PMO. Additional merits include previous experience in student health and/or schools.

We expect you to have a good ability for structure and planning. We assume that you are independent, flexible, proactive, and enjoy working in teams and in close collaboration with school staff. You have a good and empathetic approach and the ability to build trust with students, guardians, and colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

A driving license and access to your own car are expected as travel between schools may occur.
