With us at Väster Innerstaden 4, you will find a group of dedicated colleagues working to help the residents of Malmö with the best interests of children in focus.

Job Responsibilities

As an investigating social worker for Children and Family (0–18 years), focusing on the environment, you will work to investigate the needs of children and their parents for interventions, both according to SoL and LVU. Your main task is to investigate and carry out follow-ups and reassessments of interventions. The investigation work also includes collaboration with the child's network and conducting motivational work with the family.

The work involves qualified investigation and follow-up work characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal security, and entails great variation and change. We value the opinions and views of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups.

Qualifications

You need to have a degree in social work and be genuinely interested in meeting children and parents in difficult life situations. Having high integrity while being empathetic, being able to see the whole picture, and having a sincere desire to do your utmost to contribute to a better life for children and young people together with your colleagues are fundamental requirements for the job. Using yourself as a tool in the work means that you need to have very good communication skills and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

You who are applying have good collaboration skills and thrive in a work role that involves a lot of collaboration both within your own work group and with other activities and authorities. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families, and you are keen to be attentive and listen to the person you meet to create a good contact.

As a person, you are also responsible and have a good ability to structure your work, allowing you to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and easily adapt to changing circumstances. To thrive in the position, we see that you are secure and stable in yourself, and that you have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in pressured situations. We see that you should have at least 3 years of experience in social work.

It is meritorious if you have experience in public authority work within the area of Children and Family according to SoL and LVU, as well as if you have worked with public authority work in other parts of social services. Other experience in social work related to children and young people is also seen as an advantage. For the position, a B driver's license and knowledge of other languages in addition to Swedish and English are meritorious.

About the Workplace

The area of operation for Individuals and Families is divided into two departments with different assignments and focus areas: Investigation and Intervention.

Within the Investigation department, there are currently 3 units with a total of 14 sections working on investigations within Children and Family with a focus on environmental cases (0-18 years). At the section Väster Innerstaden 4, we are now looking for a new dedicated and skilled colleague who wants to help us become Sweden's best social services.
