JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Language and Competence Center is responsible for receiving newly arrived students, mother tongue education, and study guidance in Växjö Municipality. The unit also has a competence assignment within reception, mapping, and study guidance.

We are looking for someone who wants to join our team in SKC for study guidance. As a study guide, you will support students in their language and knowledge development using their mother tongue, and act as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You will do this through close collaboration with the student's mentor and teaching staff in the primary schools.

Study guidance can take place before, during, and after lessons based on the student's and subject's needs. This means you will work both in class and individually with students in consultation with subject teachers. You will also work with students of different ages. The position is located at the high school.

The work involves collaboration with students, guardians, and school staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have a post-secondary education, preferably pedagogical, and experience in study guidance. Qualities such as teamwork and flexibility are important in this role as your work occurs in close collaboration with others.

We are looking for someone who:

• has very good knowledge of the study guidance language in both spoken and written form,
• has at least a passing grade in Swedish or Swedish as a second language 2 at the high school level,
• has good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system,
• is used to taking great personal responsibility and can work independently.

The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made. The position is 20% SÄVA.
