Medical Secretary at the Neuropsychiatric Reception

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units.

We are looking for a medical secretary.

At the Neuropsychiatric Reception, we cater to patients aged 18 to 60 who are assessed to be in need of psychiatric specialist care. The reception is a psychiatric outpatient clinic that conducts diagnosis and treatment for patients with primary issues related to neuropsychiatric disabilities, NPF, primarily ADHD and autism.

Our staff consists of nurses, social workers, caregivers, psychologists, doctors, and medical secretaries, and when needed, occupational and physiotherapists are also included in the teams. We have a cross-professional working method where we coordinate and plan interventions around the patient's needs together.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable interventions that affect many. The reception works with the patient in focus, and the medical secretaries have close cooperation with other professional groups. You will be part of a team consisting of three medical secretaries, where two work full-time and one works 50%.

The administrative tasks included in the position encompass dictation writing, handling referrals and waiting lists, patient administration such as calling patients, scheduling and rescheduling patient visits, coding, 1177.se, mail handling, scheduling, archiving, inventory ordering, and providing service to healthcare neighbors. We work in the Cosmic journal system and several other IT systems.

We are currently working on a change process where we want our medical secretaries to be a natural part of our cross-professional working method. Therefore, we need a person who likes to see the work from different perspectives, understands how others think, and is good at solving problems. You also need to have an interest in working with and for people.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a warm and generous personality, who takes responsibility and enjoys working both independently and in a team.

The person we are looking for needs to be a trained medical secretary and enjoy working in an environment with varied tasks. We prefer that you have experience with Cosmic.

You need to be proficient in the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Therefore, we ask that you write your application in Swedish.
