Södra Dalarnas Räddningstjänstförbund is responsible for fire services within the municipalities of Avesta, Hedemora, Fagersta, and Norberg. The organization comprises approximately 45 full-time employees and 100 part-time employees distributed across six fire stations. Our operations focus on both damage control and prevention, hence all personnel participate in preventive work.

We are looking for one to two instructors for the External Training unit.

As an instructor in External Training, you will be placed in the Protection Department, which focuses on preventive work, and in your role as an instructor, you will work to create a safer everyday life for the residents of Avesta, Fagersta, Hedemora, and Norberg municipalities.

As an instructor, you will plan training sessions, conduct training, and handle follow-up work. You are also expected to contribute to the development of existing training programs.

The primary training we provide includes basic fire protection, CPR, systematic fire protection work, hot work, and school training.

Other tasks managed by External Training include oversight, inspection, and service of VMA, fire alarm testing. If needed, the unit also assists in training operational capabilities. In the future, more tasks may arise due to the security situation in the world.

In addition to training within our member municipalities, External Training also conducts training for our contractual clients independently and provides training for Brandskyddsföreningen Mitt Utbildning AB as instructors.

If you have the right qualifications, you will also be considered for temporary firefighter duties during holiday periods and as needed within the organization.

The position(s) may in the future require security clearance/classification, and depending on classification, this may entail requirements for Swedish citizenship.

Requirements:

• Firefighter or have pedagogical training
• Possess a driver's license at least category B
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365

Meritorious:

• MSB's Basic Training for Fire Service Personnel in Readiness or SMO
• Instructor in Hot Work, CPR, or other relevant areas for the position
• BE, C, CE driver's license
• Management training (Rescue Management A, B/LK 1, 2)

Personal qualities:

• Self-driven and plans for and conducts training
• Social and easily engages with others and inspires
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing and explain to others
• Structured and possesses good administrative skills

Since temporary firefighter duties may become relevant, physical tests and medical examinations will be conducted for those considered for such duties. We will also provide basic training for fire service personnel in readiness as needed.
