Steg 1 AB operates emergency and foster home services with a focus on safety, quality, and the best interests of the child. We work on behalf of municipalities to recruit, assess, match, and support foster and emergency homes that receive children and young people in need of a secure environment. In 2026, Steg 1 will expand with new offices, including one in Uppsala, and therefore we are looking for an engaged consultant to support our foster homes in Uppsala and surrounding areas.

Job Responsibilities

As a foster home consultant with us, you will:

• Support and guide our emergency and foster homes in their assignments.
• Conduct regular home visits and follow up on the situation of placed children.
• Act as a link between the homes, the placed child, and social services.
• Recruit and assess new emergency and foster homes.
• Participate in planning and matching placements.
• Document in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Contribute to the quality and development work of the organization.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work or another higher education in social work deemed equivalent.
• At least 1-2 years of experience working in foster care or another relevant area of social services.
• Experience in providing guidance and support to contractors.
• Good knowledge of SoL, LVU, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the regulations of the National Board of Health and Welfare.
• Good documentation skills and experience working independently.
• Driver's license (B) required.
