Librarian Wanted at the Sophiahemmet University Library

The Sophiahemmet University Library is looking for an engaged librarian who wants to contribute to the further development of research support and work with digital resources.

Description

Sophiahemmet University offers education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels with a clear focus on quality, clinical competence, and research integration for the future of health, care, and welfare. The library is a valued meeting place for students and researchers – a central part of the university's knowledge environment.

The library is an important resource for both campus and distance students and is currently in a development phase. A modern and adaptable library system has recently been implemented, and the next step is to further develop the digital library with web services that provide better support for learning and research. The library employs seven people in smaller teams with different areas of responsibility, such as research support, system administration, and e-resources. The work is varied and means that everyone, in addition to their team tasks, contributes where needed to create a current and well-functioning operation.

Responsibilities

As a librarian focused on research support and e-resources, you will be an important part of our team. You will:

• provide support to researchers regarding information retrieval and publishing.
• assist with the management and accessibility of research data.
• develop and manage the library's digital resources and services.
• contribute to training and guidance for users and colleagues.
• participate in staffing the information desk and have daily contact with students.

Based on your experience and competence, other tasks may also be added.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has a degree in library and information science.
• enjoys collaborating and actively contributes to developing solutions through dialogue and cooperation with colleagues and users.
• has a commitment and interest in digital development.
• has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Experience in research support and e-resources is an advantage, as well as knowledge of system administration or similar tasks within the library.

As a person, you are communicative and pedagogical, collegial, and have a good demeanor and ability to handle different needs with a focus on the user. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
