Our mission is complex, and we operate both preventively and in damage control. The preventive mission includes, among other things, information, advice, and instructions to residents, as well as training for students and employees in the municipality. The Rescue Service is responsible for supervision matters regarding fire safety and permits and supervision matters concerning the handling of flammable and explosive goods. We conduct fire safety inspections in-house and are responsible for chimney sweeping performed by contracted entrepreneurs.

The damage control operations include rescue efforts in the event of fires, accidents, releases of hazardous substances, and other incidents. We collaborate with 12 other rescue service organizations in the Eastern Svealand Rescue Region.
