The position is a permanent full-time employment. Nationalmuseum applies a 6-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Testing and security clearance may occur before employment. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment process.
Nationalmuseum is a government agency with approximately 160 employees tasked with promoting art, art interest, and art science. The museum's collections include painting, sculpture, drawings, and graphics from the 16th century to the turn of the 20th century, while the collections of applied arts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day.
The collections are displayed in the main building on Blasieholmen, Stockholm, and at about 20 other locations including Gripsholm Castle, Läckö Castle, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum. Nationalmuseum also conducts exhibition, program, research, and publication activities as well as lending activities. Your role at Nationalmuseum
As part of the security unit, you will maintain and develop the security work at the agency, thereby contributing to Nationalmuseum's operations and goals. The security unit is part of the museum's administrative department and is responsible for the overall security of Nationalmuseum concerning visitors, employees, objects, buildings, and information.
Nationalmuseum rents premises at several locations in Greater Stockholm and in Östersund, three of which host public museum activities. The museum's collections are also displayed at about 20 other visitor sites across Sweden. Nationalmuseum also lends objects to other authorities, Swedish embassies, and museums both nationally and internationally. The security unit plays a central role in assessing risks and setting requirements for these loans.
Your main tasks
As a security coordinator, you will serve as a supportive and cohesive function that implements and develops security work, both strategically and operationally.
You will be responsible for/work with:
- maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, objects, buildings, and information
- strengthening security awareness within the organization
- ensuring security routines and procedures align with the needs of the operations and are structured, uniform, and well-functioning
- supporting operations during incidents and events
- coordinating and documenting security measures between operations, suppliers, and management
- maintaining and developing systematic fire protection work
- coordinating contact with property companies, security companies, and other operational actors
- following up on security work, systems/procedures, and deviations, as well as developing and implementing improvements
- monitoring external developments and ensuring compliance with laws/regulations, directives, and standards
An important part of the work is to maintain regular dialogue with the security manager and the rest of the team to jointly be responsible for and coordinate the various parts of the security work so that they function as a whole and fit well into the overarching governmental work.
Your qualifications and experience - requirements
- Relevant education in security, risk management, crisis preparedness, or another related field, or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- 3 years of broad experience in security work in line with the described tasks
- Good knowledge of regulations and guidelines within security and security protection
- Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and comfortable with informing and presenting security information to others.
Your qualifications and experience - desirable
- Experience working within government, the cultural heritage sector, or similar operations with high demands for the protection of valuable environments and objects
- Experience in contract follow-up and supplier management within security-related services
- Experience in conducting risk/vulnerability analyses
- Experience in systematic fire protection work and/or information security work
- Experience in staff and preparedness work.
