Security Coordinator with a Focus on Security Technology
The position is a permanent full-time employment. The National Museum applies a 6-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Testing and security clearance may occur before employment. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment process.
The National Museum is a government agency with approximately 160 employees tasked with promoting art, art interest, and art science. The museum's collections include paintings, sculptures, drawings, and graphics from the 16th century to the turn of the 20th century, while the collections of applied arts and design, as well as portrait art, extend to the present day.
The collections are displayed in the main building at Blasieholmen, Stockholm, and at about 20 other visitor sites, including Gripsholm Castle, Läckö Castle, Nationalmuseum Jamtli in Östersund, and Gustavsberg Porcelain Museum. The National Museum also conducts exhibition, program, research, and publication activities as well as lending operations. Your Role at the National Museum
As part of the security unit, you will maintain and develop the security work at the agency and thereby contribute to the National Museum's operations and goals. The security unit is part of the museum's administrative department and is responsible for the National Museum's overall security concerning visitors, employees, objects, buildings, and information.
Your Main Responsibilities
As a security coordinator with special expertise in security technology, you are responsible for quality assurance, management, and development of the museum's technical security solutions. Your role means that the security organization's objectives are translated into stable and modern technical systems that support the needs of the operations. In your role, you will also participate in and contribute to the agency's other security work.
You will be responsible for/work with:
- maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, objects, buildings, and information through technical security solutions
- strengthening the organization's security awareness
- ensuring that routines and working methods related to technical solutions align with and meet the needs of the operations
- identifying and analyzing security risks related to technical systems and information, and planning relevant measures
- proposing and implementing improvements and investments in the security technology area
- ensuring that security technology equipment and IT systems (access control systems, alarms, video surveillance, gates, and door environments) function and are maintained correctly
- planning and initiating upgrades, replacements, and installations of technical equipment
- following up on service and supplier efforts
- ensuring that fire safety equipment functions and meets the needs of the operations
- following up on security work, systems/methods, and deviations, as well as developing and implementing improvement measures
- participating in and contributing to both the implementation and development of the agency's security work
- keeping up with developments in the field and ensuring compliance with laws/regulations, directives, and standards
An important part of the job is to maintain regular dialogue with the security manager and the rest of the team. Together, you are responsible for coordinating and ensuring that the components of the security work function as a whole.
Your Competence and Experience - Requirements
- Experience or education in security technology, systems technology, physical security, risk management, or another related field
- 3 years of experience in work related to installation, development, or management of security technology
- Good knowledge of standards, guidelines, and regulations within security technology, such as access control systems, alarms, video surveillance, locks, and door environments
- Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- Experience and ability to document, write instructions, and convey complex technical relationships internally and externally.
Your Competence and Experience - Meritorious
- Experience in security technology work within the cultural heritage sector or another environment with special requirements for the protection of valuable objects and buildings
- Experience in information security, systems management, and development of routines regarding technical security
- Documented competence in technical risk assessment, analysis of security technology solutions, and planning of technical measures
- Experience in contract follow-up and supplier management within technology or security-related services
- Good knowledge of video surveillance and work in a monitoring center.
- Knowledge in security-related areas interfacing with IT information systems for preventive purposes against internal and external threats.
- Experience in staff and emergency preparedness work
