Operations Operator at the Swedish Customs Operations Center

The Operations Center is organizationally part of the Swedish Customs Control Department but supports the entire event-driven operational activity. The Control Department has a broad mandate to ensure that only approved goods pass Sweden's borders. The mission involves conducting customs controls on imports and exports where the Customs Authority looks for goods that violate restrictions and also to ensure that the correct customs duties and taxes are collected. The mission also includes stopping or seriously disrupting organized crime and ensuring competitive neutrality. The operation runs 24/7, all year round.

About the position

In your role as an operations operator at the Customs Operations Center, you assist the on-duty commander in daily operations. For example, you are responsible for maintaining the situational awareness of the operational activities. You also work with communication and service to the Customs operational staff, case handlers, and the public. You assess incoming information, handle alarms, process various types of permits, and assist operational staff with support in arising questions.

Incoming information is documented, administered, assessed, and shared with operational staff for action when necessary. The Operations Center serves as the Customs Authority's contact point for both national and international contacts.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed and approved secondary education or equivalent that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
  • Approved vision and hearing
  • Driver's license B
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Good IT skills and you are a frequent user of various IT systems
  • At least three years of relevant work experience

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working as an operator at an operations center
  • Language skills
  • Completed and approved basic training within the Customs Authority or other training that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • Experience with the Customs Authority's operations
  • Signal protection
