Police Area Storgöteborg
In the police area of Storgöteborg, nearly one million inhabitants reside. Our geographical area spans across seven municipalities.
The police area of Storgöteborg is divided into five local police areas: Gothenburg city, Kungälv/Ale, Storgöteborg Hisingen, Storgöteborg northeast, and Storgöteborg south. At the police area level, the investigative operations are organized into investigative on-call and investigative sections. Furthermore, there is a police area office.
Local Police Area Storgöteborg City
The Local Police Area Gothenburg City is part of the police area Storgöteborg. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigative groups, as well as support and service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for group leaders who want to drive community police work to reduce crime and create a safer local community. The community police primarily work with planned crime prevention and safety-creating activities in line with the local police area's operational focus. The assignment also includes collaboration with internal and external partners to achieve effects in the work with local problem images. The assignment is broad, varied, and changing, always with the residents of the local police area in focus.
You will be responsible for a group with operational, personnel, and work environment responsibilities for about eight employees. You plan and lead the work based on our operational focus and goals and work persistently and continuously with planned efforts. Through your leadership, you create conditions for participation and community where cooperation is a significant and important part of daily work. As a group leader, you have great opportunities to steer and influence the work.
The Assignment as Group Leader
As the group leader, you report to the head of the local police area and are part of the local police area's management team, where you together are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You have particular responsibility for the group's activities in the area of crime prevention and its results. As a group leader, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising a sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with confidence in others' competence and ability. As a leader, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on our adherence to the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the assignment as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Swedish police degree
- At least 6 months of continuous experience working as a leader
- Experience in the relevant operational area, i.e., external service
- Experience participating in change and development work
- Experience in the police organization's operations
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- Experience in investigative assignments
- Experience leading others towards set goals and results
- Participated in management forums
- Leadership training for direct level
- Experience participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside your own organization
