JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for a group manager who wants to drive community policing efforts to reduce crime and create a safer local community. Community police work primarily involves planned crime prevention and safety-enhancing efforts in line with the local police area's operational direction. The assignment also includes collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve effects in the work with local problem areas. The assignment is broad, varied, and changing, always with the local police area's residents in focus.
You will be responsible for a group with operational, personnel, and work environment responsibilities for approximately eight employees. You will plan and lead the work based on our operational direction and goals and work persistently and continuously with planned initiatives. Through your leadership, you create conditions for participation and community where collaboration is a significant and important part of daily work. As a group manager, you have great opportunities to steer and influence the work.
The Role of Group Manager
As the group manager, you report to the head of the local police area and are part of the local police area's management team, where you collectively are responsible for executing assignments and driving the authority's change and development work. You have particular responsibility for the group's activities in the area of crime prevention and its results. As a group manager, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a manager and leader within the Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with trust in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Swedish police degree
- At least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager
- Experience in the relevant operational area, i.e., external service
- Experience participating in change and development work
- Experience in the police organization's operations
We consider it advantageous if you also have:
- Experience in investigative assignments
- Experience leading others towards set goals and results
- Participated in management forums
- Management and leadership training for direct level
- Experience participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside your own organization
