We have an exciting development ahead of us as the authority grows in 2026. We are developing an effective collaborative culture characterized by trust, curiosity, and accountability. A culture where we get better together!

About the position

The Railway Museum offers experiences that leave a mark through enjoyable, playful, and experience-based learning about Sweden's railway history. We are looking for someone who wants to welcome the guests of the Railway Museum and be the face of the museum together with other staff members. Your welcoming and reception are crucial for the visitor's experience, and we strive to deliver good hospitality and a great experience for our guests.

You will work as a museum host in the museum and its associated historical buildings and as a driver of the mini-train at Sörby, alternating with shifts on the rail bus and in the vehicle depot Tåghallen in Nynäs. The work may involve role-playing or acting out various railway historical roles. You will also answer questions about the Railway Museum's activities and resolve issues that arise regarding our guests. You will work to varying extents during the Railway Museum's summer season from June 6 to August 30, including weekends, and have the opportunity to work extra during other parts of the year.

Your skills and experience

To work as a museum host with us, you must be at least 18 years old by May 31, 2026. We also see it as an advantage if you have experience in guiding and showing or role-playing, theater, or live-action role-playing. Above all, you need to feel comfortable speaking in front of groups. If you have an interest in history and railway history, we consider it a plus.

Your qualities

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities. You are passionate about hospitality and service, and have a good ability to put our guests first. You are outgoing and have a high communicative ability and find it easy to establish contact with people, especially with children. You are attentive to guests' needs and driven to create an attractive experience that inspires satisfied guests. You can dress up and play roles in various activities that the museum offers. You are collaborative and enjoy working together with others and take responsibility for contributing to common results. You contribute with positivity and engagement and are eager to take your own initiatives to solve issues that arise and are proactive in your areas.
