Buaskolan is located in the picturesque Väröhalvön, about 20 km north of Varberg. The school gathers approximately 190 students in the range of grades F-6 and has two departments with around 100 enrolled students.

Our educators work collegially every week on teaching development in various areas to adjust our teaching to ensure it benefits our students as much as possible. Our goal is to be a school accessible to all students where they can develop as far as possible towards both social and academic goals. Safety and well-being are important focuses that always lie at the forefront of planning all activities. In our facilities, children and youth have the opportunity to develop with peers while being surrounded by students from preschool to grade 6. Buaskolan has a well-developed learning environment with easy access to outdoor activities. Multi-arena, playgrounds, forest, and beach. But also, the leisure facilities inspire learning and play.

The activities in our after-school program are compensatory, where teaching is based on play and the students' needs for learning and stimulation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with colleagues at the school, you will plan and implement activities for the after-school program as well as teaching within the school's framework.

Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. Together with your colleagues, you will shape a relational leadership where the quality of teaching is the focus. We create the best possible meeting for learning.

As a teacher in the after-school program with us in Varberg Municipality, you have a central role in creating a safe, developing, and motivating environment for the students. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied teaching, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through play, creation, and movement.

Together with your colleagues, you will plan and follow up on the after-school program based on your choices of pedagogical and didactic strategies and methods, adapted to the students' needs and conditions. You meet each student in their knowledge progression and contribute to developing learning environments that encourage students' learning, participation, and influence.

Permanent employment requires that you are a qualified teacher for the after-school program. If you lack certification, a fixed-term employment will apply according to the Education Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a certified teacher with qualifications for work in the after-school program or alternatively educational training or experience working in after-school programs. You are a secure adult who is passionate about creating engagement among our students. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in after-school activities, school activities, or with children and youth.

To develop learning in the after-school program, you need to feel comfortable using digital tools and equipment such as tablets, interactive programs, and apps. Your good planning ability and solution-focused attitude are important for you to actively connect after-school activities to LGR22 and classroom teaching. We are constantly working to develop our after-school program and want you to have the drive and commitment to be a part of this.
