Health Economist at the Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU)
The Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU) is a knowledge authority under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs tasked with conducting scientific evaluations of methods within healthcare, including dental care. SBU is also tasked with conducting scientific evaluations of interventions within social services and interventions supported by the LSS (Act on Support and Service). At SBU, collaboration is the foundation for a positive work environment and the core of our daily operations and the quality of our products. The agency has around 100 employees.
If you are passionate about combining a scientific approach with economic perspectives, this is your chance to make a difference. As a health economist with us, you will have the opportunity to compile research into materials that influence both public health and the design of care, welfare, and social services. Welcome to join us in strengthening our work to promote health and welfare based on scientific grounds.
Unit Description
The unit for scientific information supply and health economics consists of eight colleagues, half of whom are information specialists and half are health economists. Both functions are key roles for projects at SBU in that information retrieval underlies all SBU products and health economic evaluations are part of many of SBU's assignments.
Job Responsibilities
The role of a health economist involves reviewing economic studies according to SBU's methods for various projects, conducting your own economic analyses, including model analyses tailored for Swedish conditions, and communicating the results verbally and in writing in a pedagogical manner. Furthermore, as a health economist with us, you are expected to actively participate in methodological development within the health economics group at SBU. We also collaborate with both nationally and internationally active health economists. SBU's evaluations are conducted in project form where the project group consists of internal staff and external experts. SBU offers a qualified, varied job with current national policy issues.

- Experience in investigative work within the public sector.
- Knowledge of operations within healthcare, dental care, social services, or other relevant operations in the public sector.
- Knowledge of SBU's methodology or other equivalent methodological knowledge.
