The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool to grade 6. The basis for the education is the Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipality. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the school's governing documents and from the Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You will actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the school. Participate in other work at the school together with the school's staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

A teaching degree with a valid teaching license. You are proficient in Northern Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships, as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and attentive to the needs of students and enjoy working with children and youth. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
