The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool to grade 6. The basis for the education is Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, implement, and evaluate education in accordance with preschool governance documents and from a Sámi perspective, both individually and in teams. You actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the preschool. Participate in other work at the preschool together with the staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preschool teacher degree with a valid teaching license, or other education deemed suitable by the employer. You are proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing. You have a positive view of people and the ability to create good relationships as well as the ability to prevent and resolve conflicts. You are meticulous, flexible, and responsive to students' needs and enjoy working with children and youth. We are looking for someone with documented good collaboration skills. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
