to apply for the job

The municipality of Jönköping is a large employer with hundreds of different professional roles. We are growing in line with the municipality's development with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. We are always on the lookout for new talent - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.

The Social Services in Jönköping is now strengthening its work with needs-based support for youth in vulnerable life situations.

Through the method of Multisystemic Therapy (MST), we offer intensive treatment interventions in the youth's home environment, aiming to enable them to stay at home and create lasting change in the entire family system. We are now looking for dedicated therapists for our newly established MST team – do you want to make a real difference?

Your new job

As an MST therapist, you will work with youth and their families to change norm-breaking behaviors through multisystemic therapy (MST). You will use the MST method to strengthen family relationships, support the youth, and educate parents. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with schools, leisure activities, and other key actors around the youth. As a therapist, you will work intensively with 3-4 families at the same time.

You will be part of a team of two other therapists and a coordinator. The work is home-based, which means you will meet families in their homes and collaborate with, for example, the police, schools, and leisure leaders. The team has supervision every week, and you will receive support from experienced colleagues and supervisors to develop within the method. You will also attend MST training if you do not already have that competence. For more information about the method, visit mstsverige.se (http://www.mstsverige.se).

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with an approved degree as a social worker, a university-educated social pedagogue, or another university degree of at least 180 credits that is deemed equivalent by the employer. It is an advantage if you have completed psychotherapy level 1 and/or have corresponding further education in systemic family therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Experience in family work, family treatment, or cognitive behavioral therapy is a requirement. You have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, as consultation and training are partially conducted in English. A B driver's license is required as travel is part of the job. Further education in systemic theoretical methods or qualified change work is also a plus.

We are looking for someone with strong commitment, flexibility, and who enjoys working both independently and in a team. Furthermore, you are secure, stable, and have self-awareness.

A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
