As one of our assistants is going on parental leave, we are looking for a personal assistant for a man with acquired brain injury and a man with cognitive disabilities.

The position is full-time and you will be scheduled at both workplaces. Both workplaces are centrally located in Lidköping. As a personal assistant, you are a support and help the user create security in everyday life. We are looking for someone with a good heart.

Job Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will follow the user's daily life; the work may involve providing support with personal care and transfers. The work may also involve accompanying the user on various activities. For the users we are currently looking for an assistant for, the work also involves supporting the user with training for rehabilitative purposes, assistance with cooking, and various other household chores. The work is not stressful as everything is based on the user's pace and well-being for the day.

Working in assistance involves working alone, so we want you to be secure and independent. As a person, you are calm and kind-hearted. You have a professional attitude and put the user at the center. You are responsible and have good collaboration skills. The work as a personal assistant can be physically demanding, and therefore requires you to take care of yourself to cope with the workdays.

Based on the users' wishes, we welcome applicants with good social skills and a twinkle in their eye. We also hope that you have an interest in food and cooking. Daily life also consists of some training according to a structured training program. At one of the workplaces, you will work with tube feeding via PEG delegated by a nurse.

The care and support are provided based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination. You have a statutory and professional responsibility for established tasks according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons) and HSL (Health and Medical Services Act). Documentation and medication management are included in the assignment. We use several digital tools.

Qualifications

To be employed as a personal assistant, the following is required:

• Approved vocational degree from a healthcare and nursing program, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience from similar work is desirable.
• Since social documentation and communication are important in your work, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish as well as good computer skills. You also need to have good physical condition to manage the assignment. In the role of assistant, it is important to be attentive and able to read situations.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

Fixed-term employment at 100% starting from April 1 - August 31 with the possibility of extension. Working hours are scheduled Monday-Sunday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM with shifts every other weekend. Shifts alternate between being scheduled from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, or 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Times may change based on the users' needs.

In our operations, everyone employed for work within the support area according to law (2010:479) must show an extract from the criminal record.
