Occupational Therapist for Primary Care in Gävle

The primary care in Gävle consists of eight health centers: Andersberg, Gävle Strand, Hamrånge, Hedesunda-Färnebo, Strömsbro, Sätra, Södertull, and Valbo. As an occupational therapist, you will be affiliated with one of the health centers but will work broadly where there is a need.

The operation will become part of Region Gävleborg Din Hälsocentral AB, the company for the publicly run health and child care centers in Gävleborg. The transition will take place on February 1, 2026. Together, we want to develop and shape primary care and create a good working environment for managers and employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In consultation with the patient, assessments of activity ability and rehabilitation needs are made. As an occupational therapist, you will conduct cognitive assessments as a complement to the district nurse and doctor's evaluations. Your tasks also include formulating statements regarding housing adaptations, applications for personal assistance, and reviewing costs and rental responsibilities for assistive devices based on assessments. Treatment primarily occurs individually and largely in collaboration with other professionals. Assessments and occupational therapy interventions take place in the patient's home. Patient education and counseling are included in the job responsibilities.

For collegial support, you will be part of a network with other occupational therapists working at the various public health centers in the primary care area of Gävle. You will meet regularly for collegial discussions, collaborate during absences, and provide close support to each other in daily work. Your tasks will vary, and you will have significant opportunities to manage and plan your own workday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Since we have a cross-professional collaboration, we expect you to have good teamwork skills. There are demands for independent work, a good attitude, and professional responsibility. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

In the role of occupational therapist, you should:

• be a licensed occupational therapist
• hold a valid B driver's license.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience working in primary care or home healthcare.
