Part-time IT Instructor at Västerås Library

Your Responsibilities

As a part-time IT instructor, you will work at the main library's department for digital participation, Digidelcenter, and at the library's information desks. You will promote increased digital competence and knowledge of how IT can be used innovatively. You will assist with printing, scanning, handling tablets and phones, downloading apps, and similar tasks.

You will also have other library-related tasks, such as managing reservations, library systems, and assisting with book management within the library premises.

The position involves day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with good IT skills who enjoys helping others. It is an advantage if you have a relevant post-secondary education for the employer. Your interest in digitization and innovative working methods is a strength, and you create dynamic new opportunities to meet the needs of different target groups. Experience in library work and/or service-oriented work is a plus. The job involves a significant amount of book management and some lifting, so good physical condition is important. You have knowledge of and interest in digital tools and an understanding of internet safety. Your proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is good, and language skills in other languages are advantageous.

We expect you to have good collaboration skills and social competence. We assume that you are attentive and accommodating in your interactions and enjoy helping others. You are solution-focused, meticulous, and composed in stressful situations. You have pedagogical insight, which allows you to adapt your approach based on the person in front of you. You are good at maintaining an overview, have a sense of logistics, a flexible working style, and take responsibility for your tasks. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

You will work organization-wide across the entire library's operations.

Location: Västmanland County, Västerås
