Support Assistant Needed for Björkgläntan Service Housing
The LSS department is the third largest department within the welfare administration, tasked with implementing decisions made under the LSS law, primarily decisions regarding housing with special services, personal assistance, and daily activities.
The goal of the support provided is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life so that individuals granted assistance can live like others.
Our work is carried out through individually tailored support with high quality and self-determination, where a good approach permeates all activities. We are now looking for a committed and goal-oriented support assistant for Björkgläntan service housing!
Job Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you provide practical and pedagogical support in the individual's daily life – at home and in the community. The work is based on the individual's needs, wishes, and self-determination. You work with everything from personal care, daily chores, medication administration to leisure activities, structure in daily life, and communication. Together with colleagues, you work to create safety, participation, and quality of life for the individuals you support. It includes building trusting relationships with users, having a good approach, and being a good role model.
You are responsible for establishing and following up on implementation plans with the user, other social documentation, and other administrative tasks/responsibilities such as scheduling, purchasing orders, health, and safety.
You drive development work forward together with colleagues according to set goals, methods, quality requirements, and other guidelines. Collaborating with the user's network, other staff, and other partners is also an important part of the job.
Qualifications
To work in care and support, you must be at least 18 years old. We are looking for someone with a high school diploma in either the Health and Care program with a specialization in disability or psychiatry, the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social work or educational work, or another equivalent education deemed comparable by the employer.
For the job, sufficient knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required to communicate with users, perform care documentation, and obtain medication delegation. Experience working within LSS or with individuals with disabilities is an advantage. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is essential. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Working hours vary and include day, evening, sleeping on-call, and weekend shifts. The position is centrally located in Örnsköldsvik at Nytorgsgatan's group home.
