Maintenance Manager at Göteborg Energi

Do you want a key role in securing Gothenburg's energy supply? We are looking for someone who wants to work strategically with maintenance planning for our most critical facilities.

Here you will have great responsibility, technical challenges, and a manager who gives you the mandate to steer your work.

Your task

From planning to optimization. As a Maintenance Manager, you play a crucial role in our Asset Management process. You are responsible for ensuring that our 130 kV stations, focusing on GIS substations, deliver reliable electricity to the people of Gothenburg around the clock. Your daily work is not just about planning what needs to be done, but also analyzing why and when it should be done to optimize both costs and availability over time.

You will, among other things:

  • Own the maintenance plan: Develop and implement long-term maintenance strategies for our 130 kV facilities.
  • Analyze and optimize: Use data from both preventive and corrective maintenance to fine-tune our programs and increase the lifespan and reliability of the facilities.
  • Coordinate the whole: Collaborate closely with facility managers and contractors to ensure that maintenance is carried out cost-effectively.
  • Be responsible for systematic fire protection: You are part of the team working with fire protection and hold the role of fire protection coordinator (BSS) for the stations.
  • Monitor the environment: Represent us in industry forums (e.g., EBR and EnergiForsk) to bring home and implement best practices.

Your team

You will be part of the Planning department – a team of 13 people responsible for everything from system design and network expansion to long-term management. For us, collaboration is not just a cliché – it is the prerequisite for us to succeed in our socially important mission. We support each other in our daily work but also expect you to be self-driven and manage your own processes.

You will have broad contact areas, both internally within the company and externally with authorities and contractors. Therefore, we place great importance on you being a clear communicator who enjoys building relationships.

Your immediate manager, Jimmy Vylund, has a background in the team and describes his leadership style as follows:

"With me, you will receive the trust and autonomy required for you to take full responsibility for your work, from analysis to solution. I will not micromanage you – my technical background allows me to be your qualified sounding board for complex challenges. My focus is to point out the direction, protect the team's priorities, and remove obstacles so you can focus on what you do best."

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is motivated by the combination of technology and strategy. You understand the importance of structure but also have the curiosity to want to improve and renew old working methods. To succeed in this role, we prefer that you have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/energy or equivalent experience that we assess as comparable.
  • Experience: A few years of work with maintenance planning or management of electrical network facilities according to ISO 55000.
  • Strategic perspective: Experience analyzing maintenance needs from a lifecycle perspective.
  • Language: You express yourself fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing as required in our safety and authority contacts.

As a person, you are confident in making your own decisions and have the ability to structure your work even when the pace varies. In this role, it is an advantage if you have a natural leadership ability; you are skilled at getting others on board, setting requirements, and driving change through your expertise.

We review applications on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline – so please submit your application as soon as possible.

Göteborg Energi is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and many of our services are security classified. If this position is security classified, a security review will be conducted before employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
