Responsibilities

As a medical technology engineer or technician with us, you provide significant support to the hospital's operations and enable efforts that impact many. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with interesting technology that directly benefits healthcare, with a focus on patient safety. We are currently seeking an engineer to replace an upcoming retirement and a technician.

You enjoy providing service to the operations you support. The tasks vary, and together with a team of colleagues, you work to find solutions to various problems. Here, you will receive thorough training and educational initiatives as part of your work and professional development.

In this role, you will assist with technical expertise, advice, and training related to medical technology equipment. You will work in collaboration with the operations to improve, digitalize, and/or automate work processes using technical support. As an engineer or technician, you will work with corrective and preventive maintenance. You will have contact with external suppliers. The responsibilities also include participating in and potentially leading assignments such as feasibility studies, investigations, and management activities, especially in the role of engineer. You will participate in investment planning, procurement, and also manage medical technology products throughout their lifecycle. The unit operates across the entire region, so travel may be required, hence a valid driver's license (B) is required.

Qualifications

In the engineer role, we are looking for someone who is an educated engineering graduate. In the role of medical technician, a relevant, preferably post-secondary, education in technology is required, or you have education or experience that the employer deems relevant. Practical and theoretical experience in medical technology is an advantage. As a person, you are solution-oriented, curious, and have a service-oriented attitude. You communicate clearly and confidently, building trust with individuals internally within the organization as well as with suppliers and other stakeholders. Healthcare is undergoing significant digitalization, and the connection between medical technology products and IT systems is becoming stronger, which is why competence and understanding of IT systems are highly valued. You are proactive and self-driven in your work. You also have good collaboration skills, and since the work involves documentation of completed tasks in our inventory system, you should also be computer literate and organized. You can communicate well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. You further contribute to a good work climate and good relationships within the team, and we are keen to find the right person for the position, placing great emphasis on personal suitability and the balance between skill and knowledge. The position is security classified, and a security check will be conducted prior to employment.
