About the Position
At Örebro Municipality, we are investing in digital business development to meet the challenges of welfare. We are now looking for a digitalization strategist for the unit of Strategy, Architecture, and Transformation within the Information Supply and Digitalization Department.
As a digitalization strategist, you will create strategies, drive development, and help our operations become smarter and more innovative. With a holistic perspective on the municipality's digitalization, you will work at various levels to increase digital maturity. Our digitalization strategists have different designated partnership areas where the idea is that close support can contribute to the digital transition and development both within the specific area and for the municipality as a whole. Currently, this partnership role is focused on the management of Preschool and Primary School as well as Upper Secondary School and the labor market.
Examples of Tasks:
- lead and coordinate digital development; together with the operations, drive and coordinate the municipality's digital transformation
- develop strategies and plans; create and manage municipality-wide strategies, directions, and methods within the information supply and digitalization area
- promote innovation; identify and describe digital development initiatives to strengthen the municipality's innovation capacity
- analyze and evaluate; assess consequences and opportunities through analyses, investigations, and prioritize needs
- monitor trends and technology; stay updated on societal trends and technological developments such as AI, automation, data analysis, open data, and IoT
About the Workplace
The Information Supply and Digitalization Department of Örebro Municipality has the overall responsibility for leading and coordinating the municipality's digitalization development and digital transformation. The department is also responsible for ensuring effective, reliable, and secure information supply as well as a sustainable architecture for the municipality's information management.
The unit of Strategy, Architecture, and Transformation is one of the department's five units. Here you will find chief architects, digitalization strategists, IT architects, IT procurement strategists, and information security strategists. The unit's mission is to, from a holistic perspective:
- ensure effective and purposeful strategies, principles, and roadmaps within the information supply and digitalization area
- lead and coordinate the municipality's digitalization and digital transformation
- develop and promote the municipality's innovation capacity

Qualifications
As a digitalization strategist, you are a good and pedagogical communicator who is responsive to the operations and has an understanding of different perspectives and viewpoints. Collaborating across boundaries comes naturally to you, and you involve and engage others as needed. You are skilled at building and maintaining relationships, both internally and externally, and have the ability to create participation and consensus.
To succeed as a digitalization strategist, you have a strong drive and a great ability to independently take responsibility for planning and executing your work to achieve set goals. Working within given frameworks and making decisions based on a holistic perspective and strategic thinking is something you master very well. Since the tasks vary, it places high demands on you to be adaptable and able to take your own initiatives. Furthermore, we see that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- academic degree with a focus that the employer assesses as relevant for the assignment or substantial work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent
- at least 5 years of experience in driving change and development within digitalization
- leadership experience within the digital sphere
Meritorious:
- experience from the municipal education sector
