The Municipal Executive Office is responsible for the management and coordination of all municipal activities.

The administration has units for administrative services, personnel, finance, communication, community management, quality, and IT.

The IT unit of Karlskoga Municipality works hard to digitize working methods within the municipality. The IT unit is an essential part of the municipality's digitalization journey and is intended to support that work. Today, the unit is divided into two groups, operations and support, working together. We strive to meet the challenges of digitalization and are expanding the unit with this new position. We are looking for someone who wants to join our digital journey and support the development of our operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a digitalization strategist in the IT department, you will become a key person in the municipality's digital transformation. You will work strategically to identify and drive digital initiatives that strengthen our service to citizens, streamline operations, and promote sustainable development.

Main Responsibilities

As a digitalization strategist, you will have a broad and varied responsibility. Your efforts will be crucial in shaping the municipality's digital future. Here are some of the most important tasks you will work on:

• identify new opportunities for digitalization initiatives that improve the municipality's services and processes
• support project teams working on the implementation of new digital tools, platforms, or processes
• contribute to scaling up and spreading successful digital initiatives within the municipality
• monitor trends in digitalization and transformation in AI, automation, IoT, and data security, and assess their potential for the municipality
• conduct - or support operations in needs - and current situation analyses to identify areas where digitalization can make the most significant difference
• act as a bridge between the IT department and other municipal operations to ensure that digitalization supports operational and strategic needs
• build networks and collaborate with external parties, such as suppliers, authorities, and other municipalities, to exchange knowledge and experiences
• communicate and anchor digitalization initiatives with management and employees
• support the municipality's operations in their digital transformation by offering training, workshops, and change management
• inspire and motivate employees to see the opportunities of digitalization.

This role requires a person who can think big, act strategically, and at the same time be practically oriented when needed. Your ability to balance long-term visions with concrete actions will be crucial for the municipality's digital journey.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in IT, technology, or equivalent
• the ability to think analytically and strategically and translate ideas into action
• good communication skills and experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders
• knowledge of trends in digitalization, AI, smart cities, or other relevant areas.

In addition to your technical skills, we place great importance on your personal qualities. You prioritize the team over the individual and enjoy managing multiple projects simultaneously while working meticulously and structured. The assignment requires you to be flexible, driven, and self-sufficient. In your communication, you are clear and have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
