About the Unit

The Systems Unit at the FMTIS has operations in several locations across the country, responsible for technical change management during renovations in the Armed Forces' telecommunications network and management of the Armed Forces' IT infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities

The work involves being responsible for and participating in the technical management of parts of the Armed Forces' infrastructure with high demands on availability and IT security.

You will work with design, development of configuration instructions, policies, and management of incoming components. Furthermore, handling inquiries within the area, providing technical support to the operations organization and decision-makers. You will work with suppliers and participate in various working groups and projects.

The current position focuses on the design and management of secure environments for operational monitoring platforms. You will be part of a team that also manages fundamental IT infrastructure such as Windows, Linux/Unix systems, virtualization platforms, network components, firewalls, cryptosystems, and information security.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • University degree in IT or equivalent knowledge, which can be assessed as equivalent by the Armed Forces
  • Good knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, Syslog, Netflow
  • Current and relevant experience with switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation in bash, Python, ansible, or similar
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms
  • Good ability to express oneself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
  • Driving license B

You need to have a strong interest in development and IT security, be driven by technical problem-solving, and contribute new ideas. You take responsibility and see both the big picture and the details, ensuring results both independently and collaboratively. As a person, you are open and social, self-assured, have good judgment, and adapt while maintaining your own integrity.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Certification in network technology
  • Practical experience in IT security
  • Experience in operation and technology in complex IT environments with high IT security requirements
  • Experience in technical management
  • Experience with operational monitoring platforms/products, such as ELK, Splunk
  • Knowledge of security and hardening of operating systems
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27002, PCI DSS, CIS, STIG, NIST, MITRE SAF
