Job Responsibilities

Your task as a camp leader at Udden's camp is to be responsible for children aged 9-13 years and to plan and lead activities for this participant group. Camp involves round-the-clock activities for the youth and us leaders. As a leader, you live and work at the camp in Värmland together with the children and youth. Therefore, you need to be comfortable being away from home for at least 6 weeks.

A large part of the work is to meet the participants' needs and be able to guide them in their decisions. To meet this, we believe that you as a person need to be secure in yourself, your leadership role, and able to set boundaries. You also need to feel comfortable in more life-oriented conversations. It is largely similar to working in a school where there are demands to set boundaries while also creating relationships to ensure a safe climate.

Experience

You who are applying should have a strong interest in being outdoors, or experience in outdoor education, as the majority of our activities are held outdoors. We believe that those with experience with children in the upper elementary school age would be suitable for this role as working with children requires difficult boundary setting and relationship building. We believe that those who have experience with students in primary school have a good foundation to succeed in your work as a camp leader. Activities we do include hiking, building rafts, climbing, swimming, and cooking outdoors. We will also have artistic activities such as theater, dance, and singing. Disco, football tournaments, and themed days are also on the schedule.

About the company

Utepedagogik Sverige AB conducts camp activities at several different camps across Sweden for children and youth aged 9-16 years, focusing on adventure and outdoor educational activities. The cornerstones of Utepedagogik Sverige AB's pedagogical camp activities are: safety, quality, security, and community, as well as that trained adults with a broad competence serve as good role models. Employment conditions

The position is full-time. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the camp in Värmland from May 1 - May 4, and June 6 - 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period from June 12 - August 18.
