We are looking for a substitute preschool teacher with high competence for a group of the oldest preschool children who will start school in the autumn of 2026.

You will be part of a team of dedicated educators, and the entire preschool works project-based with play, sustainable relationships, and educational environments in focus. Together with the preschool Kastanjen, which is adjacent and belongs to the same unit, Timmermansgården is HBTQ-certified, which means that the preschools’ working methods are inclusive regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. The preschool Kastanjen is an independent preschool located next to Bergsgruvan and Södra station. It is also close to Tantolunden and Medborgarplatsen.

We offer

Your role

We are looking for a preschool teacher for a substitute position until the summer of 2026 who will work with the oldest preschool children. The group is often out and about in the city on longer and shorter excursions, so you should be able to walk longer distances with the children and colleagues. As a preschool teacher, you are attentive, engaged, and actively work, consciously understanding the importance of creating educational relationships together with the children. You have a strong drive forward and the ability to create good connections with both children and adults around you. You enjoy communicating, listening, and integrating parts into a whole. You understand and act when you need to lead your team forward, walk alongside, or stand behind when good work is underway, just as expected to be carried out together with the child group. Furthermore, you are responsible for and lead planning, implementation, follow-up, and analysis of education and teaching where the project processes are concerned. You handle systematic pedagogical documentation, both analog and digital, without any problems, where development, learning, and children's changing knowledge are made visible. The assignment includes having very good foresight to plan tasks in good time so that all parts are carried out and followed up.

We are looking for a preschool teacher who has a good understanding of preschool goals and can translate these goals into education and teaching together with the children. You are an educator who is engaged, professional, and understands each child's and child group's proximal development zone in a way that builds on knowledge and experiences at the right time. In your role as a preschool teacher, you consciously and actively work for a democratic approach in preschool where every child experiences inclusion, equal opportunities for expanded perspectives where norm awareness and attitudes are the daily cornerstones. You also have the competence and experience to plan and implement development and change of the preschool's educational environments both indoors and outdoors.

You are responsible for and lead planning, implementation, follow-up, and analysis together with your team to systematically document the teaching that is conducted. You ensure each child's development and learning by using pedagogical documentation you are used to working with reflection tools, and you are responsible for planning and conducting parent meetings. You have the courage to change when needed and the courage to hold on when necessary.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have a preschool teacher certification and several years of experience working in preschool. As a person, you are calm, communicative, empathetic, and handle all situations, meetings, and relationships professionally. You have good knowledge of Swedish, are very comfortable working digitally and with pedagogical documentation. You have a good ability to focus on the right things and prioritize based on the prevailing conditions both in the short and long term. You are good at and enjoy leading both children and colleagues and are happy to share your knowledge and qualities.
