Educational Leaders in Higher Vocational Education Wanted

Campus Nynäshamn is in a dynamic development phase characterized by creativity and innovation. We are now looking for 1-3 experienced educational leaders in higher vocational education.

Job Responsibilities

Campus Nynäshamn is in an expansive phase and needs to hire at least one educational leader by 2026, but it could be up to three positions depending on the allocation from the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education in January. The sought programs are: Ship Technician, Cybersecurity Analyst, Procurement Officer & Buyer, Support Pedagogue in the field of disabilities, Specialist Nursing Assistant in elderly care. The position may involve responsibility for YH courses. Experience with both programs and YH courses is therefore an advantage.

The educational leader at Campus Nynäshamn is the contact person for students, the executor of the management team, and responsible for ensuring that course leaders and lecturers deliver quality education in line with applicable educational and course plans. Your work regarding the students' LIA is also an important part. In your role as an educational leader, you are responsible for ensuring that your program has good throughput and maintains high quality. The role includes admissions, budget responsibility, procurement of educators, as well as follow-up and systematic quality work. As an educational leader, you work digitally in various systems, such as MYH's Mina sidor, It’s learning, Alvis, and Office 365.

The educational leader has a coordinating, administrative, communicative, supportive, and executive role. The educational leader has the coordinated responsibility for the implementation of the education, which must be carried out in accordance with the law and regulations regarding higher vocational education. The main goal is for the students to be in demand in the industry related to the education. You may have responsibility for entirely new programs in higher vocational education, but it could also be existing education.

All YH programs and courses at Campus Nynäshamn are conducted remotely, which means that the work as an educational leader can mostly be performed from anywhere in Sweden. However, all programs include 1-2 on-site meetings per semester in Nynäshamn that you as an educational leader are expected to attend. Additionally, there may be joint campus or municipal meetings once a year.

About the Workplace

Campus Nynäshamn is a municipal operation, and Nynäshamn Municipality is your employer. It is a large educational organization with over 50 employees. Campus provides four different forms of education: Higher Education, Adult Education/SFI, YH, and NY. There are common functions at Campus such as administration, career guidance, study support, and development teams.

As a campus within a municipal operation, there is also access to all municipal support functions or benefits such as procurement unit, HR, wellness consultant, or the opportunity to rent a cabin during the holidays.

The mission of the Business and Labor Market Administration is to strengthen Nynäshamn Municipality as an attractive place for entrepreneurs. We meet the need for skills by offering education to young people and adults at Nynäshamn High School and Campus Nynäshamn. We also work to increase opportunities for people who are far from the labor market to establish themselves in, or return to, working life.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • relevant post-secondary education from a university/college
  • experience working in YH
  • good knowledge of the educational leader role within YH
  • experience working with digital tools and remote education
  • knowledge of the laws and regulations regarding higher vocational education

It is advantageous if you have:

  • several years of experience as an educational leader in YH or equivalent
  • experience with both YH programs and YH courses

You are structured and have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work to meet deadlines and deliver according to plan. At the same time, you are social and relationship-building, easily establishing and maintaining professional contacts.

Furthermore, you have a business-oriented mindset where you understand costs, revenues, and efficiency, and work with quality and results in focus to ensure that the education is of a high standard.
