Specialist Physician in Psychiatry

We are now looking for a specialist physician in psychiatry who wants to be part of our dedicated team and contribute to the development of psychiatric and addiction care in Norrtälje.

About the position

As a psychiatrist with us, you will have a stimulating and varied job where you, together with the team, contribute to developing and improving psychiatric and addiction medicine care in Norrtälje. You will work both with planned outpatient visits and urgent assessments.

The work involves a combination of individual responsibility and teamwork, where you participate in patient work through regular outpatient visits, psychiatric assessments as a consultant at the hospital, and guidance and support to colleagues in the team. An important part of the role is also to collaborate with care neighbors and other authorities to ensure holistic care.

In addition to outpatient work, urgent or planned assessments in the patient's home environment are also included. The clinic is open during office hours, with an evening clinic until 7:00 PM one day a week. In 2026, we will move to newly renovated premises at ROS (Roslagen Hospital).

Your responsibilities include:

• Outpatient visits and regular outpatient work.
• Urgent and planned psychiatric assessments, including home visits.
• Consulting work at the hospital, where you conduct psychiatric assessments.
• Guidance and support to colleagues in the team.
• Collaboration with care neighbors and other authorities.
• Working both individually and in a team around patients.

About you

For this position, you need:

• Specialist physician in adult psychiatry
• Good Swedish in spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Experience working in psychiatry

We are looking for a licensed physician with an interest in psychiatry and addiction medicine. You have experience in both psychiatry and addiction medicine. We place great importance on personal qualities and your ability to collaborate. A good attitude with respect is a given for you in contacts with patients and colleagues. The ability to prioritize tasks is highly valued, as is the readiness to adapt interventions based on rapidly emerging needs and conditions.

The psychiatric and addiction clinic is an outpatient clinic with a unique concept. We have integrated psychiatry and addiction care in one clinic. Our area of operation includes Children, Youth, Family, Psychiatry, and Rehabilitation.

We work according to the overarching routines and diagnosis-specific process maps of Region Stockholm. At our clinic, there are unit managers, deputy unit managers, specialist nurses, psychiatrists, resident physicians, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, medical secretaries, and administrative staff. We are divided into an outpatient team and several treatment teams.
