About the Job

We are now looking for someone interested in a developing job where you can support individuals in their daily lives and enable them to have a meaningful existence.

We offer a stimulating job where you, together with the unit manager, educators, and work group, participate in planning and developing the operations. You will also have the opportunity for further education with us.

Ängås Gård is an LSS residence located in Frölunda, close to nature and good transportation links. Here, 6 individuals with varying support needs live. The target group we work with includes individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism. They live in their own apartments/townhouses with access to shared spaces and staff support.

In your role as a support assistant, you will work with a variety of tasks, from providing educational support in daily life to participating in community life and leisure activities. Personal care and support in the home, such as laundry, cleaning, and cooking, will be carried out as much as possible together with the tenants.

You will work motivationally and create conditions for structure, participation, and self-determination based on each person's abilities.

You will be the contact person for one tenant. This means maintaining contact with relatives, guardians, schools, and daily activities, as well as other networks. You will also actively work on following up implementation plans and managing ongoing documentation, which will be done with the tenant's participation. It is also part of the job to receive delegation according to the Health and Medical Services Act.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly meritorious. It is also an advantage if you have experience within the autism spectrum and psychiatry.

We would like you to have experience with low-arousal approaches (LAB) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).

Social documentation is an important part of the work, so if you have knowledge and experience in this area or good computer skills, it is a plus.

To succeed in the role of support assistant at Ängås Gård, you have a professional and respectful approach, good collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt to the user's needs and changing circumstances. You are engaged, responsible, and take initiative in your work with the user's best interests in focus. You adapt your communication to the recipient and situation. You take initiative and responsibility for ensuring that the work progresses, whether you work independently or together with others.
