The Cancer Center at Norrland University Hospital (NUS) is a center of excellence in the northern healthcare region. We have advanced technical equipment and prioritize research. We treat patients with oncological and hematological diseases in both inpatient and outpatient care and offer specialized home healthcare as well as cancer rehabilitation. There is also a radiation therapy department and a clinical research unit at the clinic. We are primarily located at Norrland University Hospital, but we also work in home environments throughout Västerbotten and as consultants in the northern healthcare region. The oncology section provides highly specialized care. The ward has 30 beds for general oncology patients. We treat patients with various oncological diseases using both chemotherapy and antibodies.

The team consists of coordinators, booking staff, contact nurses, nursing assistants, rehabilitation staff, as well as specialists and resident doctors. We also have a day care unit where we administer various types of treatments and an assessment unit that takes care of acute patients who come to us for various measures before they can return home.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to one of our employees retiring, we are looking for a nurse for the clinic's outpatient care, with placement as a treatment nurse in our day care within the oncology section. If you have specialist training in oncology, the assignment will later transition to contact nurse. The work in day care involves administering various treatments, follow-ups, taking care of patients who are to undergo various outpatient examinations, as well as coordinating and planning times for our day care patients. Work in our assessment unit, where we receive our acute patients, is also included in the position. The contact nurse's duties consist of telephone counseling, work in day care, the assessment unit, and conducting own telephone consultations where assessments are made prior to various tablet treatments. Part of the job also includes providing information to patients and relatives and formulating care and rehabilitation plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed nurse, and having specialist training in oncology is an advantage. We want you to have a good demeanor and see collaboration as an important part of care, but also be comfortable working independently. You can identify nursing needs and initiate appropriate actions. We value that you are flexible, meticulous, and structured.
