Job Advertisement: Security Work Expert
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transportation.
The position is located within the section for analysis and coordination, which is part of the planning unit at the security department. The section is responsible for developing methods and models for monitoring, analysis, and planning of security work within the framework of the authority's governance and follow-up model. The section is also responsible for coordination within the department and distribution of incoming requests/referrals, as well as handling the department's email and mail management and record-keeping. The section is also responsible for data extraction and national analyses of reported incidents in the incident reporting system. Additionally, the section has administrative responsibility for the security department's IT systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an expert, you will follow up and ensure the quality of the security work within the authority. You will support the security department in prioritizations and strategic governance regarding organized crime and violent extremism by producing materials, standardizing, analyzing, and evaluating results, and proposing strategic directions within these areas. You are expected to contribute your knowledge to develop the security area. You will participate in collaboration forums within the expert area both internally and externally. In your role, you will work towards fostering good collaboration in the forums you participate in. Part of the work consists of planning and following up on work and/or projects within the security area, where you will produce reports or other materials.
In the expert role, you will also support the section head in implementing and following up on activities and assignments related to the operational plan within the security area. Handling referrals and other inquiries to the security department is part of the job, as well as other tasks deemed appropriate by the section head within the security area.
QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who have:
- A university degree of at least 120 credits corresponding to two years at a university/college in areas deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, or other education combined with experience considered relevant by the authority
- Experience in handling cases, conducting investigations, and preparing decisions
- Experience in information gathering, processing/analysis, and presentation of conclusions
- Experience in driving, leading, and maintaining processes with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in collaboration at various organizational levels
- Ability to independently conduct investigations and write reports
- Good computer skills and a strong understanding of the importance of secure information management
- Good knowledge of management and governance in administration
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing in English
- Good knowledge of security relevant to the authority
It is advantageous if you have:
- Further education in the security field, especially in organized crime and/or violent extremism
- Training within the operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience in security work at regional and/or national levels
- Experience in security work within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience and understanding of the various operational areas of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- Experience in working in organized crime
- Experience in working in violent extremism
- Experience in inter-agency collaboration
- Experience in leadership
- Experience in working with standardization and governing documents
