Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and now we are looking for more employees.

Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The main task of the section is to make decisions in centrally located client cases. Currently, this involves cases regarding postponed conditional release and cases concerning victim information when clients have protected personal data. Relevant categories may be broadened in the near future. We provide advice and support to other operations and participate in the agency's practice-coordinating activities. The section collaborates with other functions within the Kriminalvården and represents Kriminalvården in court regarding the cases handled by the section.

The section for postponed conditional release at the headquarters in Norrköping consists of about 15 employees and belongs to the legal department of the headquarters. The section is expanding with several positions due to new legislation in the area of postponed conditional release coming into effect on January 1, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a person who is secure and stable, with well-developed self-awareness. You collaborate easily and are flexible in adapting to changing circumstances. You have the ability to process complex information effectively and work goal-oriented to achieve results. Through structured planning, prioritization, and determined action, you ensure success in your daily work.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• A law degree, a degree with a focus on society, or another focus that Kriminalvården assesses as equivalent
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Very good analytical skills

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in decision-making in cases of authority exercising against individuals
• Experience working as a lawyer in private or public sectors
• Experience in case management or client-facing work within Kriminalvården
• Court experience through e.g., notarization
