Project Coordinator for Tenants in Focus

Every day, the Tenants' Association, its elected representatives, employees, and members contribute to improving housing for people. We have been doing this for many years, and we want to continue to advocate for tenants' interests, rights, and opportunities to influence their housing in the future.

Region South-East is a large geographical region that spans 52 municipalities and five counties. We have offices in Jönköping, Linköping, and Växjö. We have over 80,000 members and approximately 100 employees in the region. We now want to increase our presence and visibility, both physically and digitally, in our residential areas and cities within the region, with a special focus on areas where we currently have low presence and visibility.

About the Position

We are looking for a project coordinator for our project Tenants in Focus. As a project coordinator, you will work alongside a project manager and three community development workers as part of the project team, tasked with realizing the expectations outlined in our project plan.

The project will work in selected areas, community areas without a board, focusing on increasing the number of members and engaged members, as well as developing methods that can be used in future organizing and inclusion efforts. The project will select at least one area where we work on housing integration and increased local organizing from a “whole city perspective,” focusing on organizing and inclusion.

The project team works agilely and exploratively, where we are constantly seeking to find new methods and develop our current methods to reach new target groups among tenants and provide them with knowledge about their opportunities to influence.

About You

You are well aware of the value of voluntary engagement for community development and people's belief in the future. You actively contribute to ensuring that we, as an organization, work in ways that allow our members to engage in the forms they choose and in the issues they want to influence. You believe in every person's willingness and ability to engage and actively work to instill courage in them to try. You are well aware that you represent the Tenants' Association and strive in all aspects to convey the benefits of membership and the strength of local organizing.

You have experience in associations and organizing various target groups in society. Previous experience in democracy and inclusion issues is an advantage.

In your role as a project coordinator, a large part of your work consists of ensuring that other people can realize their rights and achieve their own goals. For this, you need to have a holistic perspective, where you are informed about the project team's daily work so that you can provide them with support in their processes. At the same time, you lay the groundwork for the project's working methods with a focus on documentation and learning. Therefore, you have good planning and coordination skills and can adapt your daily work based on others' needs.

Building and maintaining good relationships comes naturally to you, and you enjoy communicating on the terms of the target groups.

You are accustomed to describing processes and methods, both verbally and in writing, as well as through visualizations.

You have good analytical skills and possess knowledge of how to use various search channels to gather insights about tenants and our members. You also have competencies in mapping and gathering research, reports, and other types of knowledge related to voluntary work, democracy, and inclusion, as well as housing integration.

Your Main Responsibilities:

  • You drive and support work in our residential areas by coaching community developers.
  • You support community developers in guiding people through different phases of their engagement journey.
  • You are responsible for documentation and the development of guides, handbooks, routines, etc., together with the project manager.
  • You are responsible for actively collaborating with both the project's and the region's colleagues, strategists, and managers.
  • You work out in the field together with community developers.
  • You report to the project manager, who is also your immediate supervisor.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has high social competence – the ability to connect with people of all ages.
  • Has excellent organizational and collaborative skills.
  • Has experience in coaching and leading other people.
  • Can work independently while also being able to easily adapt to collaborating with others.
  • Is attentive and proactive, while enjoying leading others toward their own goals.

It is advantageous if you have experience in mobilizing volunteers with a focus on democracy and inclusion. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The position includes travel, so a driver's license and access to a car are required. Working hours are unregulated, and evening and weekend work may occur. Start date is according to agreement.

For inquiries about the position, please contact project manager Shiler Patel at 010-459 10 13 or regional manager Björn Lindgren at 010-450 15 79.

Union contacts are for SACO Gabriela Panevska-Ilik at 010-459 21 90 and for Handels, Robin Dahlin Appelqvist at 010-459 21 03.

If you are interested in the position, please submit your application via our e-recruitment. The position will be filled continuously. The last application date is January 18, 2026.

The Tenants' Association is divided into nine regions across the country. The work and needs may vary depending on the geographical area. All regions coordinate the efforts needed for their respective districts, and all expertise is gathered in the form of lawyers, negotiators, and business developers. As an organization, we are passionate about ensuring that everyone has the right to good housing at a reasonable cost.

Region South-East is a workplace that spans 52 municipalities and six counties. We have just over 70,000 members and about 100 employees. We have a number of qualified professional groups, and our employees work independently with great responsibility, thus having significant development opportunities. Different professional groups often work together, as well as with elected representatives and in direct contact with members. This requires employees to feel part of the whole organization and understand the significance of operating within a grassroots movement.
