Subject Description

The research group works with ultrafast spectroscopy to study light-induced processes in materials.

Job Responsibilities

The main tasks are to conduct ultrafast laser spectroscopy studies of light-absorbing materials with a particular focus on chiral materials. 50% of the work will be performed at the MAX PEEM beamline and will include user support.

Requirements for Employment

  • PhD in a relevant field for the position.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong expertise in amplified femtosecond laser systems.
  • Experience working at the MAX PEEM beamline at MAX IV.

Meritorious for Employment

  • Experience in running an ultrafast laser laboratory.

Consideration will also be given to good collaboration skills, drive, and independence, as well as how the applicant is assessed to complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and contribute to its future development based on their experience and competence.

Conditions

Permanent employment starting February 1, 2026. Full-time.

At the Faculty of Science, research and education are conducted in biology, astronomy, physics, geoscience, chemistry, mathematics, and environmental science. The activities are conducted at eight departments located within the northern university area. The faculty has about 1,500 students, 360 doctoral students, and 700 employees.
