Your New Job

As a support assistant with us, you will play a vital role in creating a meaningful everyday life for the participants at Ekens Daily Activities. Your role is to provide support, guidance, and inspiration in the activities that the participants engage in. Throughout your work approach, you will use a low-arousal response and clear pedagogical methods.

The activities are individually tailored based on each participant's abilities, needs, and interests. Since you will be working with different individuals, routines, work methods, and structures may vary. We offer activities both indoors and outdoors year-round, in all weather conditions. As both participants and the operation have varying conditions, it is essential that you are adaptable in executing your tasks.

Your Competence

For the position of support assistant, a completed and approved program in healthcare and social services/nursing with a specialization in disability studies/psychiatry or a child and youth program with a focus on social work or educational work is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.

In addition to education, previous experience in the support area is required, preferably with target groups that have autism and/or challenging behaviors. Training in autism, clear communication, and/or low-arousal responses is an advantage.

You need to master Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension, as the job involves contact with participants, relatives, guardians, and other professionals, as well as documentation and reading information related to the work. A B driver's license for manual transmission is also required for the position.

Ekens Daily Activities is located in the residential area of Ekhagen in Jönköping. We coordinate staffing, and the position may involve work at several units within the daily activities area, but your base unit will be Ekens Daily Activities. The practical work varies between units, but much is still common as we share a common value base for how our work should be carried out.

Good to Know

The recruitment refers to a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled during the day from Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00. Recruitment is ongoing with continuous selection and interviews. An offer of employment at another daily activity may also be relevant.
