Treatment Pedagogue at SiS LVM Home Fortunagården

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Fortunagården accepts women aged 18 and over with substance abuse and, in most cases, also mental health issues. We have 30 places, distributed over three departments. We are located in Värnamo in Småland.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes, among other things, to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines, and you help ensure that everyday life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, day - evening, and weekend.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and prepares you for the therapist role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and share SiS's values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
